Sherry Shady Williams, 59, of Effingham, wife of Michael Scott Williams, died Sunday, November 27, 2022 MUSC Florence Medical Center.
Sherry was born on August 11, 1963, in Florence County, daughter of Edith Miles Shady of Coward and the late Henry D. Shady. Sherry was a member of the Pentecostal Faith. After graduating high school, she went to Florence Darlington Technical College. She formerly worked for the American Red Cross as a phlebotomist. Sherry was a breast cancer survivor, supported many Breast Cancer prevention efforts and she was a diehard Gamecock fan.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Michael Scott Williams, are her sons, Kaleb Williams of Effingham and Brandon Lee Altman of San Diego, CA; sister, Melody Shady and many nieces and nephews along with other extended family; long-time friends, Annette Chandler and Hazel Knotts; she had a special place in her heart for her fur babies, Sugar Baby and Caramel.
Sherry was preceded in death by her brother, David W. “Sambo” Shady.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel in Scranton, burial to follow at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, December 2, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home.
