Richard Kertlen Lee, 78, husband of Leona Broach Lee, went on to be with Jesus, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Lake City Community Hospital.
Mr. Lee was born on November 6, 1942, in Florence County, son of the late Clayton Lee and Mary Jane Matthews Lee. He was the owner & operator of Lee's Body Shop and was a long time member of Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. He served the church in many leadership roles, including Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and song leader. He founded the Richard Lee Singers and was a southern gospel songwriter. Mr. Lee enjoyed working on his old cars and riding his motorcycle. He deeply loved his wife, grandchildren and family.
Survived in addition to his wife, Leona Broach Lee, are his children, Mitch (Mary) Lee of Manning and Rod (Tammy) Lee of Lake City; grandchildren, Kristen (Bryan) Lee, Joshua Lee and Katelyn Lee; step-grandchildren, Reva Miles and Cameron Miles; great grandchildren, Madyson Daniels, Mayson Daniels and Savannah Kelley; sister, Margaret Hiott of Charleston; beloved dog, Lily Bell Lee.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by a grandson, Mitchell K. "Red" Lee, Jr.; brother, Charles Lee; sister, Victoria Nettles.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM Friday at the church prior to the services.
