Michael Ray Matthews, 63, husband of Joyce Foxworth Matthews, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at McLeod Health Center of Florence.
Michael was born on July 11, 1958, in Florence County, son of Delores Dennis Ardis and the late Jack Matthews. Michael was a graduate of J.C. Lynch, an avid transmission man and carpenter by trade. “Famous Mike” as he was affectionately known by those closest to him, had a way to make any room brighter. His contagious laugh and his love for life was displayed every time he saw you. H was a man who loved with everything in him. He loved his family, he loved to “have a good time” and love to let you know he enjoyed his life. Many times, he would give with nothing in return. We know his Book of Good Deeds is a big one.

Matthews of Coward; granddaughter, Baylee Williamson of Scranton; sister, Kimberly M (Billy) Evans of Coward; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; many special friends.
