Marion Davis Coker, 93, husband of Althea Lee Coker, died Saturday, May 8, 2021, at his residence, after an illness.
Mr. Coker was born on May 6, 1928 in Florence, son of the late Thomas Edward Coker and Barnard Dennis Coker. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the 982nd Battalion in Korea. Mr. Coker was the founder and owner of Coker Oil Company and was a charter member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church where he served as deacon for over 50 years. He loved his church and was active until his death.
Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Althea Lee Coker of Lake City; son, Don E. (Jeanne) Coker of Lake City; daughters, Theresa C. (Mickey) Seabrook of Mt. Pleasant and Camala C. (Bobby) Osborne of Scranton; grandchildren, Davie (Jessica) Coker, Rebecca (Steven) Witherspoon, Sam Seabrook, Murray Seabrook, Zachary (Vikki) Newell and Whitney (Dane) Keefe; ten great grandchildren; and sister, Bonnie Schleuger of Johnsonville.
Mr. Coker was preceded in death by his brothers, Bethea Coker, Lenwood Coker, Edward Ray Coker, Wilbur Coker, Nell Coker and Doris Coker; and sisters, Thelma Hanna and Miriam Collins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Grace Free Will Baptist Church. Burial, with Military Honors will follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, May 10, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
