Lurie Alexander, Jr.

Lurie Alexander, Jr., 81, husband of Judy Moore Alexander, died Saturday, July 2, 2022, in Margate, Florida.

Mr. Alexander was born on October 29, 1940, in Florence County, son the late Lurie Alexander, Sr. and Bertie Flowers Alexander. He was a graduate of Pamplico High School and attended Newberry College on a football scholarship. Mr. Alexander retired as a District Manager of City Financial Company.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy Moore Alexander, are his sons, Timothy M. Alexander, Benjamin L. Alexander, both of Myrtle Beach; granddaughter, Kortney Alexander of Myrtle Beach; brothers, Reverend John (Sarah) Alexander of Hartsville and Reverend Nelson (Rose) Alexander of Florence; sisters, Mary Plass of Florence and Linda (Roger) Poston of Johnsonville; best friend, Billy Hines of Garden City.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Scranton.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
