Juanita (Lewis) Blackmon

Mrs. Juanita Lewis Blackmon, 80, wife of the late Bishop LT Blackmon, died Monday, January 30, 2023, at her home in Coward.

Mrs. Blackmon was born on January 12, 1943, in Dillon County, daughter of the late Kinder Parker “KP” Lewis and Louise Johnson Lewis. She was a member of Coward Church of God. Mrs. Blackmon was a loving wife to her husband of 59 years, loving and devoted mother to her children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to work on crossword puzzles, read her Bible and watch hummingbirds. Mrs. Blackmon faithfully served beside her husband in ministry as a Pastor’s wife for over 45 years in the Church of God.

Surviving are her sons, Larry Thomas (Wanda) Blackmon of Coward and Stephen Wade (Pamela) Blackmon of Hartsville; grandchildren, Nicki (Ronald) Broach of Darlington, Paul E. (Stephanie) Boggs of Effingham, Christopher L. (Joanna) Boggs of Virginia, Amber Boggs (Timmy) Powell of Coward, Amber A. Treadway of Florence, Jeri D. Harrington of Greenville, and Maryann Elise Blackmon of Hartsville; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Lorene Turner of Dillon; brother, Thomas (Brenda) Lewis of Dillon; sister-in-law, Judy Lewis of Dillon; brother-in-law, Dorman Collier in Strathmore, California; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blackmon was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop LT Blackmon; brothers, Gerald M. Lewis, Robert Lewis, Charles Lewis; sisters, Janelle Collier and Christine Herring.

Funeral services will be 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Coward Church of God.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the church.

Committal will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Florence National Cemetery.
