Joseph Junior Floyd, 83, husband of Jannie Mae Spring Floyd, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at his residence after an illness.
Mr. Floyd was born in Williamsburg County on July 15, 1937, son of the late Perlon S Floyd and Allean Parker Floyd. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Hubert and Talmer Floyd. Mr. Floyd was a 1956 graduate of Hebron High School and a member of Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a mechanic at the Charleston Navy Shipyard and Richburg Sales & Rentals, Godwin Tractors and later retired from Barlow World.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Jannie Mae Floyd, of the home; daughters, Karen Meyers of Charleston, Melodee (Randell) Barrineau of Turbeville, and Melissa (Mike) Jacobs of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Kerri Belk, Maloree (Kim) Davis, Wesley (Jessica) Barrineau, Brianna Jacobs; step-grandsons, Josh and Chris Jacobs; great grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Belk, Cameron Burgess-Davis, London Davis, Nolan and Nora Layne Barrineau; brother, Jimmy (Lorie) Floyd; sisters, Christine (Tommy) Jeffords, Pearline (Larry) Mitchum, Roberta (Ray) Floyd, Willa Dean (Allen) Scurry and Reba (Ronald) Williamson.
Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Belk; brothers, Dick Floyd and Kenneth Floyd.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Barrineau Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.
Due to COVID-19, the family request for everyone to wear a mask and please maintain the 6 foot social distancing. The family also requests everyone to please refrain from hand shaking and hugging one another.
