James E. “Buddy” Dennis, 83, died Monday, July 4, 2022 at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston.
Buddy was born on December 31, 1938, in Sumter County, son of the late George Dennis and Rose Ellen Floyd Dennis. Buddy was a Veteran of the US Navy and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Omar Shrine Temple, Charleston and the Omar Hillbillies Clan # 82.
Buddy is survived by Barbara Stone Dennis; his daughter, Lisa D. (Richard) Weaver; two sons, James E. Dennis, II and Mark J. Dennis; grandson Mark Jeffery Dennis, II; he is also survived by the mother of his children, Vera D. Farrell and many extended family members including, Larry L. and Dianne Dennis.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico.
