Edna Claire (Poston) Poston

Edna Claire Poston Poston, 99, wife of the late Paul Donald Poston, died Monday, May 03, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Poston was born on October 17, 1921 in Hannah, daughter of the late Cully Evans Poston and Capitola Hanna Poston. She was a graduate of Hannah High School and Winthrop College and later retired from teaching. Mrs. Poston was a longtime member of Lake City First Baptist Church where she faithfully served in many leadership roles.  She was a member of the Wednesday Afternoon Book Club. "E" as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren was an avid Clemson Tiger and Carolina Academy Bobcat fan.

Surviving are her son, Ronald Lee (Ann) Poston of Lake City; daughters, Paula P. (Larry) Reddeck and Mary Wallace (Stevie) Phillips,  all of Lake City; grandchildren, Claire Reddeck (Aaron) Bowman, Ronald Lee (Reagan Atkinson) Poston, Jr., Robert Steve (Stephanie) Phillips, II, Paul David (Cassi) Poston, Paul Griffin (Whitney) Phillips, Andrew Wallace (Ragan Cote) Phillips and Mary Lauren Reddeck (Kyle) Smith; great grandchildren, Aaron Blake Bowman, Mary Adelynn Phillips, Mary Baxley Phillips, William Holland Poston, Elliot Dawes Phillips and Evelyn Claire Smith; two sisters, Vonnie P. Poston and Annie Powell.

Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie Poston, Wilson Poston, Bussie Poston, Beulah White, Irvin "Chuck" Poston ,Eloise Wilson and Ronald L.Poston.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at her home, 214 Nesmith Street, Lake City, SC.
