Delos Jackson Filyaw

Delos Jackson Filyaw, 83, husband of Patricia Anne Huber Hutto Filyaw, died Sunday, July 3, 2022 at McLeod Health Center of Florence.

Delos was born on December 30, 1938, in Clarendon County, son of the late William Matthew Filyaw and Ruby Gladys Conyers Filyaw.  Delos worked in Production with Campbell Soup of Sumter until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Lake City Church of God where he served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher and Nursing Home Ministries. Delos was a very mechanically inclined man with a keen sense of humor.   He enjoyed fishing and gardening.   

Surviving in addition to his wife Patty are his children, John Henry (April) Filyaw of Timmonsville; Glen William Hutto of New Zion and Karen Hutto (Chris) Browder of Andrews.  Mr. Filyaw is blessed with the following grandchildren, Noah Filyaw, Kyleigh Filyaw, Brittany (Shawn) Tang, Kelsey (Darrell) Gaskins, Carly (JonAllen) Wilson, Jesse Hutto and Summer Hutto; along with six great grands and one on the way; siblings, John Filyaw, Wesley (Jennifer) Filyaw, Curtis (Emmaline) Filyaw and Leverne Feagin.

Delos was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Filyaw and a sister, Celesta Mims McCutcheon.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Friday, July 8, 2022 at Lake City Church of God with visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM prior to the service, with burial to follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
