Charles Richard Rhodes, Sr., 88, husband of Janice Rhodes, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at MUSC in Florence.

Mr. Rhodes was born on September 26, 1932 in Florence County, son of the late James David Rhodes and Ruby Hanna Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes was a graduate of Lake City High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was an insurance agent, contractor, and real estate developer. Mr. Rhodes was a faithful member of Grace and Glory Ministries for many years.

Surviving are his wife of  26  years, Janice Stanley Rhodes; his children, Martha M. Rhodes of Darlington, Charles R. (Le Dena) Rhodes Jr. of Conway, R. Elizabeth (Scot) Szymanski of Greenville, and Gary E. (Kim) Rhodes of Florence; his step-children Allen (Trina) Sims of Lake City, Scotty Sims of Coward and Stacey (Billy) Floyd of Scranton; 9 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 6 great step-grandchildren; siblings, Louise Charpia of Greenville, Howard (Buena) Rhodes of Columbia, and Mona Boyd of Kingstree.

Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by his siblings, James David Rhodes, Jr. and Samuel William Rhodes, Sr.

Due to Covid-19, Funeral Services will be private.
