Calvin L Dennis

Calvin Dennis, 48, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Lake City Community Hospital.

Calvin was born on January 2, 1973 in Florence County, son of Willis Calvin "WC" Dennis and Sharon Boyington Dennis. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and attended Williamsburg Technical College. Calvin was a member of Lebanon Lodge # 48, Lake City Lodge # 193 and the Omar Shriners. He was co-owner with his brother Jason, of the family business started by his father, WC Dennis Construction.  Calvin was the Vice President of the Johnsonville High School Booster Club, Vice President of the Prosser Field Youth Organization, was the newly elected District # 3 Director of Dixie Softball and assistant coach with the LLG Softball team.  He was an avid Clemson Fan.

Surviving are his children, Carolyn Dennis of Florence, Elli Dennis and Cole Dennis, both of Johnsonville; parents, W. C. and Sharon Dennis of Scranton; brother, Jason Dennis of Scranton; nieces, Aaliyah Dennis and Jaylen Dennis, both of Scranton; nephews, Jason Dennis, Jr. and Haze Dennis, both of Scranton; stepchildren, Anna Miller and Maelyn Thompson, both of Johnsonville.

Calvin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arnold L. "Blossom" Boyington & Margaret Boyington; paternal grandparents, William Ollie Dennis & Eula Mae Player Dennis.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow at Lake City Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.
