Betty Joyce (Clark) Evans

Betty Joyce Clark Evans, 84, wife of the late Harry Deleno Evans, died Thursday, June 3, 2021, at her home after an extended illness.

Mrs. Evans was born on April 1, 1937, in Charleston, daughter of Fritz Clark and Ethel Parks Clark. Betty attended public schools in Charleston and Jacksonville, Florida, then went on to attend Business College. She was a sales clerk, homemaker, member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 3412 and was a member of the French Huguenot Society.  Mrs. Evans was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, member of Eastern Star and the Methodist Women’s Circle. She was a loving LaLa.

Surviving are her son, Mel (Freda) Evans of Scranton; daughter, Kelly (Doug) Caulder of Florence; grandchildren, Kristen Evans, Alyssa Evans, Evan Caulder, Harrison Caulder and Kathryn Caulder; great grandchild, Lukah Ezra Brown, due October 2021; sister, Vila Shad of Georgia; and a special friend, Darlene Simcic.

Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her siblings, Carroll Clark, Chevis Clark, Fritz Clark, Elford Clark, Samuel Clark and Margaret Clark.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Agape Hospice and staff, especially Ashley Byrd and Cindy Locklear for their love and care for our family. They would also like to extend a very special “Thank You” to the Blackmon Family, Stone Family, McElveen Family, McAllister Family and Caulder Family for all the love, care and concern, especially during Thanksgiving, Christmas and all the Birthdays.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Scranton United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Carolina Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mrs. Betty Evans.
