Bart "Pops" Edward Hanes

Bart Edward Hanes, 44, husband of Julie Berke Hanes, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Bart was born on November 4, 1977, in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of Steve Hanes and Ellen Neff Hanes. Bart was a route manager for Crown Beverages. He loved everyone, was a very likeable person and loved to travel, especially during the fall season.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Julie Berke Hanes of Pamplico, are his daughter, Leah (Josh) Smith of Scranton; son, Ethan Smith of Pamplico; grand-daughter, Violet Evans of Scranton; brother, Andy (Danielle) Hanes of Wheelersburg, OH; sister, Stephanie Hanes of Simsonville, KY; nephews, Brady Hanes and Graham Hanes, both of Wheelersburg, OH; best friend, Nate Hall of South Webster, OH.

Bart was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Simon and Geraldine Neff and paternal grandparents, Carl and Kathryn Hanes.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Carolina Funeral Home.
