Grief Support

The death of someone that we love is perhaps the most difficult experience we may may face in life. How we respond and cope with death is unique and personal to each of us. We express grief in our own ways and at our own pace, but it is important to understand that grieving is a natural and healthy part of the healing process. Our service to you does not end with the funeral. Our aftercare program offers many resources dealing with the loss of a loved one. The following is a list of online programs available. The Caring Place

The first Caring Place facility opened in Pittsburgh in 1997. Since that time, the program has expanded across Pennsylvania, with additional facilities in Erie, near Harrisburg, and in Warrendale.

Crisis, Grief and Healing

Webhealing.com, the first interactive grief website on the internet, offers discussion boards, articles, book suggestions, and advice for men and women working through every aspect of grief. The site’s founder, Tom Golden LCSW, has provided book excerpts and contact information to help those healing from loss.

GriefNet

With nearly 50 internet support groups plus a wide range of online resources, GriefNet provides support for those dealing with all types of loss. Their companion site, kidsaid.com, helps children and their parents deal with grief and loss in an appropriate and safe environment.
